Cluster meeting on project management of Erasmus+ CBHE projects in Uzbekistan
On 17th September, National Erasmus+ Office in Uzbekistan jointly with Ministry of Higher and Secondary Specialized Education (MHSSE) and the EU Delegation in Uzbekistan with the support of the Education, Audiovisual and Culture Executive Agency (EACEA) organized online cluster meeting on “Project Management of the Erasmus+ CBHE Projects in Uzbekistan”. The meeting attended by 49 participants which are higher education stakeholders, local Capacity Building in Higher Education (CBHE) project coordinators and team members, the representatives of International Relations Offices (IRO) and accountants of higher education institutions (HEIs). Currently, 21 СВНЕ ongoing projects are being carried out with the participation of 33 universities: 14 HEIs from Tashkent and 19 HEIs from 10 regions and among them 20 projects from 12 regions (including Tashkent) joined to the meeting.
The main purpose of the meeting is discussing challenges and coping strategies in project management during the COVID-19 pandemic period and pproviding relevant guidance and recommendations on maximising the impact of the CBHE projects at institutional and national levels to local project coordinators.
The NEO coordinator Aziza Abdurakhmanova welcomed all participants and introduced the new Head of the Political, Press and Information Section of EU Delegation in Uzbekistan Mindaugas Kacerauskis. MHSSE representative Yakubjan Irgashev also participated with his crucial information on the CBHE projects impact and constructive recommendations .
Before the meeting, the online pre-questionnaire has been developed and disseminated to all project coordinators in order to define the main challenges encountered by the on-going projects, and during the meeting NEO expert Kudratxon Bahadirov provided and discussed survey results with all participants.
Project Officer of EACEA Maria-Sol Domínguez Parrado provided all-important information on project management activities, such as partnership agreement, financial management, tendering process for equipment acquisition and answered all questions of local coordinators.
Khabibullo Nosirov, Coordinator of SPACECOM CBHE Project participated with the topic on “Advantages of the CBHE grantholder`s role in Uzbekistan and challenges faced”. As a grantholder he gave information about what kind of opportunities and challenges can anyone face during the project management, and provided recommendation on how to manage them.
The last section of the event was discussion and debriefing and all participants provided with answers to all their questions regarding to the topic.
