Strengthening of regional cooperation in the framework of newly selected Erasmus+ Capacity Building in Higher Education (CBHE) projects

The Education, Audiovisual and Culture Executive Agency (EACEA) has announced the results of the 4 Call for "Capacity Building in Higher Education (CBHE)". The Call was launched  in October 2017 with the deadline for applications - February 8, 2018.

The list of projects recommended for funding are available on the website: https://eacea.ec.europa.eu/erasmus-plus/selection-results/capacity-building-higher-education-2018_en  
147 projects out of 874 proposals from all participating countries of the world have been  recommended for financing by the selection committee. 127 project proposals have been submitted by consortia involving universities in Central Asia (for comparison, 121 applications in 2017).
14 new projects, including 7 projects involving higher education institutions (HEIs) of Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan – 10 projects, Tajikistan – 4 projects, Kyrgyzstan -3 projects and Turkmenistan -3 projects, have been selected for funding. 
It should be noted that  in total 12 local HEIs, including 6 HEIs of Tashkent and 6 HEIs from 5 country regions and Karakalpakstan, are involved in 5 regional projects with the participation of Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Turkmenistan (4.9 million Euros), and 2 interregional projects involving universities of China, Israel and Kosovo (1.9 million euros).
29 universities from 18 European Member States and 43 universities from 7 partner countries will participate in new projects. The Ministry of HSSE will be involved in the new 3-year project "HiEdTec: Modernisation of higher education in Central Asia through new technologies".
Taking into account the data of  7 new projects, the total number of Erasmus+ CBHE projects in the country will amount to 32 projects involving 48 universities. In total 32 projects and 85 existing partnerships on credit mobility will involve 58 HEIs, including 26 HEIs in Tashkent and 32 HEIs from 11 regions and Karakalpakstan.
